Big Idea Competition | Application Deadline

You’ve got the spark. Make it real! The Big Idea Competition invites student innovators from all corners of the University of Pittsburgh to team up, roll up your sleeves, and bring your Big Ideas to life.

Whether you’re building a product, tackling a social challenge, imagining a new service, or crafting the next big digital experience, this is your chance to launch something.

Turn your idea into impact during one of the region’s largest student innovation challenges!

Big Idea Competition Dates:

PHASE 1: The following dates are required for ALL Applicant team

  • Application Deadline | Sunday, February 15 @ 11:59 P.M
  • Notification of Semi-Finalist Acceptance | Monday, February 23 (via email)

 

PHASE 2: The following dates are required for Semi-Finalist teams ONLY

  • Semi-Finalist Informational Session | Wednesday, February 25, 6:00-7:30 P.M. (via Zoom)
  • Semi-Final Pitch Round | Friday, March 20, time slots will be assigned to teams at a later date (via Zoom)
  • Notification of Finalist Acceptance | Monday, March 23 (via email)

 

PHASE 3: The following dates are required for Finalist teams ONLY

  • Finalist Info Session | Wednesday, March 25, 6:00-7:30 P.M. (via Zoom)
  • Final Pitch Round (In-Person) | Friday, April 10, time slots to be assigned to accepted teams at a later date (various locations)

 

For ALL Big Idea Competition Teams & Affiliates:

  • End-of-Year Celebration & Big Idea Competition Awards Presentation | Wednesday, April 15, 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. (Big Idea Center, invite only)
