The Big Idea Center is launching a new ChangeMaker Series — a body-of-knowledge masterclass program for students interested in exploring innovation and entrepreneurial concepts and what changemaking in action and its impact look like across various disciplines and areas of interest.
NEW! ChangeMaker Series
The Big Idea Center’s new ChangeMaker Series is an opportunity for any Pitt student at any level to step in and learn about the concepts, disciplines and frameworks underpinning innovative and entrepreneurial action. During the series, you will meet and hear from individuals who have created their own opportunities to be the change they want to see in the world.
Start your journey to becoming a changemaker with the Big Idea Center ChangeMaker Series, an inspiring 5-session masterclass program being offered for the first time during the Spring 2024 semester – featuring a number of changemakers who began their journey as students here at Pitt.
What You Will Receive Upon Completion
Students who enroll and complete the series will be awarded a Certificate of Completion and are eligible to join the first cohort of the Big Idea Center’s new ChangeMaker Scholars Program launching in Fall 2024.
Spring 2024 BIC ChangeMaker Series Session Dates:
*Dates, times, and topics covered are subject to change.
*All sessions will be at the Big Idea Center at 3601 Forbes Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. There will be no Zoom option or recordings.
*IMPORTANT NOTE* All who register for the BIC ChangeMaker Series are expected to attend all 5 sessions occurring in the Spring 2024 semester. Please refrain from registering if you cannot commit to attending all of the sessions.
- February 8, 2024 (3:30 – 5:30 P.M.): “Becoming a Changemaker: Where the Journey Begins and Where it Can Lead”
- February 22, 2024 (3:30 – 5:30 P.M.): “Creating and Delivering Value: Defining Your “Why” and the Mechanisms to Implement Change and Impact”
- March 21, 2024 (3:30 – 5:30 P.M.): “Seek First to Understand: The Power of Curiosity and Empathic Inquiry”
- April 4, 2024 (3:30 – 5:30 P.M.): “Human Centricity in Creative Problem Solving and Changemaking”
- April 18, 2024 (3:30 – 5:30 P.M.): “Creating a Culture of Change: Leading with Purpose, Values, Ethics, and Principles”
While the deadline has passed to register for the Spring 2024 ChangeMaker Series, we encourage you to participate in our Fall 2024 ChangeMaker Series when registration opens in late summer! Participating in and successfully completing the ChangeMaker Series is a prerequisite to joining the full ChangeMaker Scholars Program.
